ERS Clinical Training Fellowship was launched for the first time in December 2015. Since then, 7 candidates have been granted with this fellowship (5 candidates in 2016 and 2 candidates in 2017). This programme supports fellows that want to learn new skills and complex procedures not available in their home center so they can bring the knowledge back. Bellvitge University Hospital is the first hospital in Spain to host an ERS Clinical Training fellow, Dr Rosa Maria Ortiz Comino, respiratory physician at Warwick Hospital (UK). She will be instructed in Interventional Bronchoscopy along the next 6 months. Previous clinical training fellowships such as “Extracorporeal CO2 removal systems and NIV, Italy”; “Lung Transplantation, Germany” or “Diagnostics and management of complicated infections in CF-Lung transplantation patients and ex vivo lung perfusion, UK” highlight the high level competition associated with this grant. Therefore, it is remarkable that this is the first time that a training programme in bronchoscopy is approved.
